Night with Industry is an event hosted by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) at UC Davis that gives engineering students the opportunity to network with representatives of various companies in a formal dinner setting. The event is split up into two components. From 4-6 P.M. there is a career fair where students have the chance to talk to any of the company representatives at their respective booths. From 6-8 P.M. there is a sit-down dinner in which attendees will be seated with a company representative for further, more personal networking. 

NOTE: Later purchases are less likely to be guaranteed seating with one of their top 3 company preferences.

FAQs

Who can come?

Although attending companies will be mainly interested in Engineering and Physical Science majors, any UCD student is welcome to attend including Masters and Ph.D. candidates. If you are interested in attending as a company representative, please email us at ucd.nwi@gmail.com for more information.

Can I choose which companies I sit with?

During registration, you will be asked to select at least 3 companies you would prefer to be seated with during the dinner portion of the evening. Note that this selection does not guarantee you will be seated with these companies, but we will try our best to accommodate your selections.

Do I have to pay with credit card/ PayPal?

At this time, we are only accepting payments acceptable through TicketTailor. If you cannot pay through credit, debit, or PayPal, please contact us.

What dietary accommodation options are there?

The dinner portion of the evening will be served buffet style, with vegetarian options included. During registration, you will select your preference for meat or vegetarian, so we can have a good estimate. Although you will not be strictly held to the option you choose during registration, please be courteous of others. If you have other dietary restrictions, please let us know during registration and we will accommodate as best we can.

What should I wear?

Wear what you would to a job interview, i.e. business. 

What should I bring?

You should bring your registration confirmation, valid form of ID, multiple copies of your resume, and any questions you may have for company representatives.

Do I have to attend the whole event?

Although it is in your best interest to stay for the whole event, you are not required to do so. If you decide to attend only part of the event, we cannot give discounts. 

How can I update/ edit my registration information?

You are able to update/ edit registration information via Ticket Tailor. After locating your ticket, you can view the details of the order. Click "Edit Order" and make any changes needed (changing company preferences). 

Are there any refunds?

We do not give out any refunds.
