How did you learn about AIChE and why did you join?

I discovered AIChE while visiting UC Davis as a high schooler. AIChE put on an event where they made liquid nitrogen sorbet with Dr. Kuhl. The close interaction between faculty and AIChE, and the warmth of AIChE’s community made me want to join.

How has AIChE helped you grow professionally and/or personally?

Each AIChE industry meeting that I’ve gone to has helped me decipher where to spend my efforts over the next few years to meet my career goals. AIChE has connected me to several other chemical engineering students who now form my go-to study group.

What's one interesting fact about you? 

I speak Lithuanian, which has some cool grammatical features.

If you could bring one item with you to a deserted island (aside from food and water), what would it be and why?

A complete guide to learning a new subject. With nothing else to do on a deserted island, it would be easy to stay focused and master concepts.

If you could watch one show the rest of your life, what would it be?

Stargate.
