How did you learn about AIChE and why did you join?

I learned about AIChE as a freshman in ECH80, but I didn’t join until my sophomore year. I realized that by joining AIChE, I could make meaningful connections with people I wouldn’t have met otherwise and I could receive/provide a system of support from/for other ChemE students.

How has AIChE helped you grow professionally and/or personally?

I tend to shy away from trying new things, so AIChE has really pushed me to become more confident and proactive, whether it be from interacting with others or planning events. It’s a step outside my comfort zone, but without new experiences, you become stagnant.

What's one interesting fact about you? 

I have a scar on my right eardrum.

If you could bring one item with you to a deserted island (aside from food and water), what would it be and why?

I would bring some type of antiseptic. If I’m going out, it’s not going to be from a little cut getting infected. That’s kind of embarrassing.

If you could watch one show the rest of your life, what would it be?

One Piece. I haven’t seen it, but it has 1000+ episodes, and I’m betting on the fact that it will take me the rest of my life to finish it.
