Bio

How did you learn about AIChE and why did you join?

During the week of orientation the junior transfers met with Dr. Prado and Dr. White. At the meeting AIChE representatives introduced us to the benefits of being a member. I decided to join AIChE to get to know more individuals within my field of study and find my community in Davis.

How has AIChE helped you grow professionally and/or personally?

When I first arrived in Davis I felt nervous about the transition from the semester system onto the quarter system. The first week was a difficult change for me and I recall wondering if I had made the right decision studying BioChem E. Because of the connections I made within AIChE I realized that I was not the only one struggling with certain course. Having AIChE on my side has helped me adjust to my new environment and feel confident of what's to come!

What's one interesting fact about you?

Something interesting about myself is that I am fluent in the languages of English and Spanish and I am currently learning Japanese.

If you could bring one item with you to a deserted island (aside from food and water), what would it be and why?

If I was stuck on a deserted island I would take a sleeping bag to stay cozy, a small hammer to open coconuts, and a Pokémon. Specifically Squirtle.

If you could watch one show the rest of your life, what would it be?

I could only watch one show for the rest of my life it would be Avatar: the last air bender. I loved the show because it had action, drama, and cool story!
