Bio

How did you learn about AIChE and why did you join?
I first heard about AIChE through my mother, who was also an AIChE representative in college. Through hearing of her enlightening experiences as a representative, along with my amazing experiences as a club president in high school, I knew being an AIChE representative would further foster my leadership skills.
How has AIChE helped you grow professionally and/or personally?
AIChE has allowed me to work with other leaders towards the goal of uniting people with a passion for chemical engineering. Having worked solo in previous leadership positions, collaborating so closely with other people was not something I was used to, so AIChE has taught me to be open minded.
What's one interesting fact about you?
I randomly taught myself how to draw realistic black and white portraits over the pandemic having no prior art experience. It has since festered into an unbridled art addiction, as evidenced by the portraits of Taylor Swift that are slowly but surely taking over my dorm walls.
If you could bring one item with you to a deserted island (aside from food and water), what would it be and why?
If I was stuck on a deserted island, I would bring a pencil and notebook. I’m aware those constitute two items, but I don’t care. They’re practical, allowing me to continue drawing, and even write a novel about my adventures which I can then monetize when rescued for big bucks.
If you could watch one show the rest of your life, what would it be?
While I don’t really watch TV shows, a movie series I rewatch religiously is The Hunger Games. Yes, I’m still unashamedly stuck in my 2012 YA dystopian girl era. I am not only intrigued by its thought-provoking concept, but I also really admire the themes of female empowerment and strength.
